Welcome

Hello.
This is a blog that will follow me and my art. So, first, let me introduce myself. My name is Dan, and for
35 years I had a wrought iron shop in New Jersey. A few years ago, I finally decided to try my hand at making art from all the  various pieces of steel and scrap that one accumulates in the course of producing wrought iron work.
I have always been fascinated by outsider and folk art, so I thought that would be a logical avenue for me to explore. Armed with only one mandatory art appreciation course (almost 40 years ago), I started. Slowly I began making small whimsical pieces for my own garden. Soon my backyard was overrun with all manner of steel critters.I started giving them to friends and family as gifts. Everyone told me that I should try to sell them. So I set out to try and sell a few pieces to alleviate the clutter. It took a while to find the appropropiate venues, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.
So, this blog will follow me as I learn the right and wrong ways of trying to sell my art. I hope you will check in from time to time and see how I am doing.
 Thanks
