"Celebrate a New Gallery"

 On Saturday, October 8, 2011, Monteiro Art Studio
and La Bottega Gallery will present a new and exciting
art show, Celebrate a New Gallery. This show will
feature artworks from many different artists and genres,
including painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, and
mixed media.


The show will be presented at Montiero Art Studio,

which is located in beautiful Mays Landing, NJ.




I will have the two pieces pictured entered in the
show. There will be several awards presented,
including a People's Choice Award, which will
be decided by those attending the opening. If you
attend  I would like to ask for your support in
the award voting.



The opening reception will be Saturday, October 8, 2011
6:00 - 9:00 pm. This will be a wine and cheese reception.

All are invited and encouraged to bring a friend. All artwork
on display will be for sale.

The show is free and open to the public.

I Heart Art - Second Attempt

The art event, I Heart Art, originally scheduled

for August 27 was postponed due to inclement
weather.We were all set to go back in August
when Hurricane Irene decided to blow through.
 So the show was postponed for the safety of
all those involved.







So now we are set to give it a go again. The date
is set : October 29, 2011, 7-10 pm.. The place is
the same : 22 East Palmer Ave, Collingswood, NJ.
The admission is still FREE. And the weather has
cooled off. So now it's time to go on with the show.

There will be a diverse group of artists eager to
show their work and happy to talk with the
guests about their artwork.





 So come on out and have a fun evening of music
and art.

I HEART ART.

MAC Window Gallery

On Wednesday, I loaded up the car
and headed over to Media, PA, to
set up my artwork in the MAC Window
Gallery. This was not as easy as other
setups, even though I had only four
pieces, due to my being on crutches
as a result of an injury I sustained
in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.
I took my son, Zachary, who acted
the part of chauffer, artistic consultant,
and, most importantly, muscle.

 The window gallery is a storefront window
of Bryn Mawr Trust Company. They do not
use the space and let the Media Arts Council
display art there. The display changes every
month. I was invited, along with two other
artists to exhibit in the space for the month
of September.

The gallery is open 24/7, so the exposure
for both the artists and the Council is
tremendous.


 The best time to go, however, is on the Second
Saturday of the month. Each month, the town of
Media has a great evening of art, music, food, and
entertainment on the Second Saturday.

 It is a lively and fun-filled occasion, with the
opportunity to experience all that the arts offer.

are both artists who use their talent to fill a
canvas to overflowing with color.

New Sculptures and "I Heart Art"

 In preparation for the upcoming
I Heart Art show, I have been
working on some new pieces.




These pieces have been created
in my new 'studio', which is just
a space out back under the maple
tree. I am in the process of selling
my old building, but the wheels turn awfully slowly. So until the
transaction is completed I am
temporarily confined to the
backyard.

Garden Art Show



The Village on High

 This weekend was quite memorable. For two
days, the Village on High hosted a Garden Art
Party. The party gave local artists the opportunity
to display and sell their garden related art, with a
portion of the proceeds going to local art
organizations.







The artwork was displayed throughout the
village, giving guests the chance to enjoy it

as they strolled the village and visited the shops.



There was live music, good food, great art, and
stimulating conversation.



One of the highlights was the Peoples Choice Award. Guests were invited to vote for their
favorite piece of art. This was done with
dollar bills. One dollar, one vote. The artwork with the most votes won half of the money,while the other half was donated to the art organization
of his choice.

I am proud to say that the winning piece was
my sculpture 'Miami'. I was really surprised.
It was quite an honor for me. Winning this
award has inspired me to press on with
my art. Sometimes it seems that I'm just
spinning my wheels and getting nowhere.
It's nice to see that people do appreciate
what I do.

Upcoming Garden Party

This weekend, Saturday and Sunday,


The Village on High

 July 30-31, 2011, there will be a garden              
party at The Village on High, in Millville,
NJ. This will be a two day affair featuring
live music, great food, shopping, and some
wonderful artwork.

All the art on display will be for sale. Artists
will choose from four area organizations to
donate their commissions to.

There will also be a 'Peoples Choice' award.
Guests will vote with dollar bills, and the winner
of the award will split the monies 50/50 with
the organization of their choice.                

I will have two pieces entered in the show. I            
have yet to decide which pieces they will
be. I've included some pictures of potential
entries.

I hope to see you there, and would encourage
you to vote for my artworks.

unique little shop featuring an eclectic assortment
of fine art, repurposed vintage jewelry, and of course
they carry some of my 'garden critters', shovel heads,

Saturday evening, June 4, was the "Illuminations"
art party in Collingswood.
Our hostess for the evening, Tracie Godrey,
did a wonderful job of creating an atmosphere
that was conducive to the showing of all the
artists work. There was a diverse range of art

represented and it was all displayed in a

tasteful manner.

The weather could not have been nicer.

About 45 minutes before the guests were

to arrive it sprinkled lightly, causing some

anxiety. That soon passed, the sky cleared up,

and it turned into the perfect evening.

The guests wandered inside and outside

admiring all that was offered. All while

being treated to delicious hors d'oeurvres

and wine.


I was happy to meet the other artists.
They were a great group of people, happy to
take the time to talk with the guests and explain
their art and answer any questions.





A pleasant time was had by all who attended,

artists and guests alike. I look forward to the next
opportunity to join Tracie and all the others for another show.
